Father, God, We Long For Your Glory! When Will Jesus Come?

God, in the midst of suffering.
God, in the midst of suffering.

Abba, Abba,

Where are you?

Our souls are hurting, we long for You.

This world needs healing.

There is too much pain, there is so much sorrow.

This world is broken and your people hurting.

Where are you, Heavenly Father? When will you send Jesus to take us home?

We desperately long to be with You, to be near, to be there in Heaven, in our promised land.

A better place, our eternal home. Away from evil and violence and circumstances our hearts cannot comprehend.

We know there is good, but sometimes it is hard to see it with all the wickedness that surrounds us.

We are struggling with questions, with feelings, and emotions we do not know how to process.

Where are you, Abba?

Our souls are bleeding, our minds reeling, and our bodies shaken to the core.

Again, and again and again, this all too familiar path of pain and devastation.

It follows us, it haunts us.

You promised to comfort us and give us peace, but you also said there would be trouble in this world.

Oh, Lord, we have so many questions mixed with confusion and anger and sadness and heartbreak and, and, and . . .

The tears fall, the storm hits hard. The division is paralyzing and the hatred so crushing, only to remind us – this is not where we belong. We long for our Heavenly Home.

Please, we beg you to hear our cries and heal our hearts.

When will Jesus come to take us home?

Our hearts are heavy. We live in brokenness. The pain feels eternal, it doesn’t stop.

We want to feel alive again without the fear of speaking Truth, or feeling divided and fearing death.

Please, come Jesus come. Heal our hearts, helps us to breathe and live once more.

We long for your gift of peace, the peace that transcends all understanding.

Won’t you comfort us in our grief?

Lord, there is so much pain, and the pain never stops.

Father, God, we long for your glory, to be where you are. When will Jesus come?

“I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 (NLT)
