Cast The Net and God will Anchor it! Finding Success: Ask, Seek, Knock
We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned
so as to have the life that is waiting for us. Joseph Campbell
I heard the other day that people spend 4 to 7 hours daily watching TV. Wow! That was an attention grabber for me. It just made me stop and think about where I was spending my time. Sure, everyone needs some downtime. We can’t be expected to be "on" all the time. We need to stop and smell the "café con leche" sometimes.
My son does Instagram posts all the time. They capture your attention, because it’s about nature, and a man and his dog, or man meet’s God’s beauty. It makes you want to stop and enjoy what God has created for us; the ocean, the waterfalls, the sunsets, and scenic routes. It helps you to think about where you are and where you want to be, not necessarily five years from now, but right now. Are you enjoying the life God has created for you?
Stop and consider the path you are on and ask yourself where you want to end up? Are you following your dreams?
Sometimes life is on auto-pilot, and we are suffering through it. We are stuck, sad, in some mode of endless, meaningless transition wondering where the path is leading us. Follow the path God has created you to thrive in. In so doing success will follow you!
The path can be your career, the health of your marriage, your relationship with your children, the trajectory of your finances, your physical and emotional well-being, or most importantly your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. How is that going for you?
Being stuck is no fun! It doesn’t feel good. But, it is in those times that we are stretched and when we evaluate our life and circumstances. We don’t have to be in a place where we are not actually living and thriving, because seriously, we should all be in a place where we are living to our full potential. In order to get to that place you need to be, you need to have a vision for your life and create the path that will make you come alive. Set the right goals and get on the true path to being the person you were meant to be and the one that leads you to the place you know you are called to be.
My philosophy is that sometimes we meet God halfway, not because He can’t, but because He wants us to. It helps us to grow in so many ways. He alone stretches us beyond what we can even imagine. Our own dreams are nothing compared to what He can do. That journey always begins with us on our knees. What I mean is that God needs to be the one we turn to in every aspect of our daily lives. "Seek His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matt. 6:33)
There are students who never thought they could afford college, much less get in. Yet, God helped them find scholarships and resources to get them in the door.
There are marriages that have been on the verge of divorce, yet those people asked for help and God provided the right support for them. Five, ten, twenty years later these marriages are stronger than ever.
Some have dreamed of being doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, pilots, authors, and God has helped each one succeed. For if you seek, you will accomplish your dream.
Are you allowing yourself to cast the net that will lead to God's very best for you? In so doing, you will free yourself from doing what you have to do, to what you would rather do. Let go and allow God to anchor the net to a thriving, successful life.
Do you remember a time when you were stuck, without direction, without hope?
How are you allowing God to transform you into the person He created you to be?

Cast the net and God will anchor it! For when we ask, we receive, when we seek, we find, and when we knock, our path is revealed before us. (Matthew 7:7)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13
