Together we can GIVE HOPE!
Welcome to our community page, Give Hope!
In 2019 I participated in the St. Jude Walk/Run!
In 2019 and 2020 I participated in the St. Jude Walk/Run in honor of my friend, Monique. Monique was diagnosed with leukemia while she was just starting school in the 90's. She was told she would never have children. Today, Monique is cancer free, happily married with two children of her own. You can read her story here: Sunshine and Rainy Days: My Daughter has Cancer
We've all been touched by cancer in one way or another. Together, we can bring hope to children fighting for their lives and the families praying for a miracle.
For, cancer has no friends. It doesn’t care how young you are or how old you are. It doesn’t care about your socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or anything else. Cancer doesn’t care. I do! I choose to fight back so that we can come along side those facing this horrible disease and end cancer once and for all.
I am saddened for the millions of people that will be diagnosed with cancer this year. I can't begin to imagine how devastating it is to see one's child suffer with cancer. No one should have to go through this. I’ve joined St. Jude to give hope to those facing cancer. I believe that if we come together as a community, we can help find a cure for cancer, by supporting cancer research. Let's put an end to this devastating, life threatening disease that continues to take the lives of children. Together, we can bring hope.
Life is about community. It is about giving back to others. It is about investing in altruistic ways to show the character of who Christ is in us. Let us be the light God created us to be and give hope; for in Christ there is joy!
The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. Psalm 118:14

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
About Baby Steps Toward Better Self-Care
According to the news and health statistics, people are experiencing high levels of anxiety, stress, and depression. We are feeling overwhelmed by life demands, burned out, and tired. This has only escalated since the pandemic.
Our self-care is so important that God calls us to, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31 NIV
Self-care is and intentional practice for taking care of our overall health. It incorporates a holistic view of the way we live, which includes our: spiritual, social, mental, and physical well-being. When one area suffers, it puts our health at risk.
In this small group Bible study we grow our relationship with God, build meaningful relationships, and engage in activities to promote our self-care and well-being.
